We here at Minneapolis Granite love sharing pictures of projects that we do throughout the area, and this project was one of our favorites: We put in new granite countertops in a Twin Cities-area home. We are particularly proud of this kitchen project, so we wanted to show you some photos.
Granite countertops are a great way to add elegance and luxury to your home. As you can see from these photos, the dark granite countertops and dark appliances can complement lighter colored cabinets. And take a look at the sink: it is an Eclipse Standard double bowl stainless steel sink.
Granite countertops look especially good when they also complement a kitchen’s appliances. In this home, the appliances are black, so having darker counters installed really gives the entire room a more cohesive look. The cabinets are by Bertch Manufacturing in the St. James door style in natural maple. The granite color is called Santa Fe.
We especially like the bookshelf and storage space that is built into this countertop that runs along some of the windows. This is a clever way to utilize space, plus it gives the home’s occupants a place to store cookbooks and smaller appliances.
When you have granite countertops installed, another thing to consider is the color of your kitchen walls. You want to make sure you choose a paint color that will complement the countertops and the cabinetry. We think this kitchen has definitely achieved that with the shade that the homeowners chose for the walls.
You also want to think about smaller details. For example, take a look at the knobs on the drawers. They are a similar color as the appliances, granite countertops and paint. So this really helps tie the entire room together. Small details like that can really enhance a kitchen’s overall look and feel!
Granite countertops are a great option for any home. They are a great investment, and they are also incredibly durable and long-lasting. With minimal care, you could enjoy your granite countertops for many years to come.
They are also great for families of all sizes simply because of their durability. They are resistant to just about everything – heat, stains, scratches, bacteria and more. If you want to cut your veggies right on your granite countertops, you can! But we don’t recommend it because it’s a good way to dull your knives!
